Jack specialises in commercial litigation and insolvency and asset recovery with a focus on banking litigation and commercial fraud.
Expertise
Jack has a broad range of experience in complex, high-stakes litigation. He has particular expertise in Quincecare and banking negligence, civil/commercial fraud, jurisdiction battles and group litigation. He also has experience of funded litigation acting for both corporate and individual clients.
Career
Jack joined Stewarts in July 2021. He trained at Forsters and qualified into their Dispute Resolution team in September 2019.
Before becoming a solicitor, Jack completed an undergraduate degree in History at Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He subsequently obtained his Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.
Personal
Jack enjoys being active and particularly playing golf, cricket and tennis. He also enjoys exploring galleries and reading historical fiction.
Experience
Jack’s recent work highlights include:
- Advising liquidators in their US$100m claim against a bank for its failure to comply with Quincecare duties.
- Boettcher v Xio (UK) LLP & Ors: advising on commercial fraud and misrepresentation claim brought in the Commercial Court against a firm and its former partners which involved a complex jurisdictional dispute.
- Advising the liquidator of a Swiss company in defence of a 17-party claim in the Commercial Court alleging misappropriation of over €10m.
- Advising a group of 40 individuals and two SIPP trustees, with over 150 underlying investors, in a breach of trust claim against an offshore corporate trustee.
- Advising a high-net-worth individual in relation to an application for Norwich Pharmacal relief.
